This is my own personal review on Difference Corporation (soon to be rebranded to Firstcom Europe) with whom I have dealt with whilst working for our company.
Difference corporation (soon to be rebranded to Firstcom Europe) in my opinion are an absolutely disgraceful business.
The company I work for are a website and business services provider based in the North East of England. We are a solely office based business / call centre. We rely solely on our phones to be able to operate our company, without phones – we have no company!
Difference corporation almost caused our company to shut down and I (alongside my director and multiple staff members) almost had a breakdown over them. This is no exaggeration either !
We are currently being taken to court for “breach of contract” as we HAD to find an alternative supplier to work with for fear of our company going under because of the constant faults / issues that we faced whilst using their dialler platform. We lost a lot of staff (who had joined our sales teams from other sales jobs) due to the system going down very often and the catastrophic faults we experienced with using their dialler platform.
Here are some the things (not limited to) what happened to us.
(IF YOU ARE READING THIS AND CONSIDERING USING DIFFERENCE OR THEIR NEW REBRANDED NAME (FIRSTCOM EUROPE) THEN PLEASE THINK VERY VERY VERY LONG AND HARD ABOUT IT, THERE ARE MUCH BETTER SUPPLIERS IN MY OPINION THAT OFFER A FAR BETTER SERVICE AND ARE A MUCH MUCH MUCH MORE RELIABLE).
When we joined Difference Corporation – we were literally “sold the dream” – we had not used a dialler company before – we previously used a standard traditional ISDN phone system, which worked perfectly well and we had next to no issues with since our incorporation.
Initially we thought the issues we faced were just typical of using a dialler – for example:
Calls constantly dropping
Multiple agents on the same call
Losing call backs and our precious data
Having to constantly apologise to our loyal customers who couldn’t get through to us as the “dialler platform” was down AGAIN!
The dialler system freezing
Being told constant conflicting information by different members of their staff.
Over the years we used difference I personally must of logged well over 100 issues that we constantly were faced with whilst using them.
We were constantly fobbed off, we were given loads of different and bizarre excuses (what we now know to be total untruths) We were constantly let down, no one would EVER take responsibility. We were starting to loose customers that we had built up over the years, we were now losing our staff who in turn were loosing money due to the dialler and all of the faults. We were losing money due to Difference Corporation! We had to take drastic action – we had to move to a different supplier.
Which meant leaving their supply.
They are now pursuing us through the courts for “breach of contract”. How absolutely disgusting!
We are fighting this all the way and I will update my reviews as things progress, win or loose.
If you are reading this and you work for a PLC company or a business that relies on a phone to speak with customers on and you are considering using Difference Corporation or their newly branded name Firstcom Europe- I would advise you to SERIOUSLY do your home work. Do not make a decision that you may get in trouble for when things go drastically and categorically wrong and bosses you work for want answers. I have had sleepless nights (lots of them) over Difference Corporation, I now continue to loose sleep due to their court claim. My co-workers (lots of them) have had stress and anxiety over loosing their call backs and multiple multiple other things.
I find the directors of this business with whom I have dealt with (Serg and Trevor) immoral, arrogant and down right rude. They have (in my opinion) demonstrated everything that a director should not be or how to run a company.
