Edinburgh Financial Services 2018 Summer Season Event
Financial Services sector meet at the Powerleague pitches in Edinburgh for their chance to compete in the Business Fives 2018 Summer Season
Business Fives has once again joined forces with Scottish Financial Enterprise to organise the qualifying event for the Financial Services in Edinburgh this summer on the 7th August. The teams will meet at Powerleague in Edinburgh for their qualifying game. This event will be the fifth out of eleven Business Fives regional events taking place throughout July and August across different professional sectors.
Supporting Local Charities
Several businesses from the Financial Services sector in Edinburgh came together for last year’s summer season to raise money for charities throughout Scotland.
Standard Life were the Champions of the Edinburgh Financial Services 2017 Summer Season and raised a generous amount to donate to their chosen charity Place2Be.
As with other seasons Business Fives have again committed to awarding the winning team with a generous donation of 10 per cent from the event’s revenue to give to their chosen charity.
Throughout the five seasons organised by Business Fives 400 companies have played and raised an amazing £42,000 for local charities since launching in 2016.
Business Fives Summer 2018
For the first time five cities across Scotland will get to experience Business Fives, the five-a-side corporate events company for football-loving professionals as it enters its fifth season. Teams from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness will be given the chance to compete against other businesses for a place in the grand final taking place on Wednesday the 26th September at the Powerleague in Edinburgh.

Business Fives boasts some famous ex-players and sporting celebrities as ambassadors including footballer former Rangers star and ex-SFA boss Gordon Smith, ex-Celtic star turned commentator Andy Walker, Hibs legend Pat Stanton, Hearts stalwart Gary Mackay, BBC Pundit Tam McManus along with TV presenter David Tanner.
Tournament founder and Business Fives managing director John McClarey – who also organised a highly-successful inaugural Business Fours golf tournament earlier this year – says “the events have proven to be a very big hit with the Financial Services sector and allows a wide range of job roles to come together on the football pitch and down tools for the afternoon. We’ve been really impressed at the charitable efforts from the sector that has lived up to its reputation of having communities at the heart of their work. Given the mix of companies we’ve had involved it promises to be another good networking opportunity for the industry.”
