Business Fives 2018 Summer Season Glasgow Energy and Utilities Football Event
The Energy Sector will have two qualifying events in Glasgow and Aberdeen. The Glasgow Energy and Utilities Football Event will be the fourth of eleven events taking place during the Business Fives summer 2018 season which kicks off in July.
Supporting Scottish Charity
In Summer 2017 Season the Glasgow Energy and Utilities Football Event saw the sector well represented by a number of companies who combined manged to raise over £3,500 for their chosen charities across Scotland.
The Sector Champions, AVIVA, raised an impressive £1,500 for their charity EDICT.
As like the other seasons, Business Fives has once again committed themselves to awarding the winning team with a bumper donation. The bumper donation will go to the winning teams chosen charity and will be 10 per cent of the event’s revenue. The extra donation could make a huge difference to the work that their chosen charity does.
The previous four seasons of Business Fives have seen more than 400 companies take part in the events across Scotland and have raised over £42,000 for a number of different charities.
Summer Season 2018
Business Fives has been running the five-a-side corporate events for football-loving professionals since 2016 and is now entering its fifth season this summer. For the first time Business Fives is giving professionals from five Scottish cities a chance to compete against each other for a place in the grand final taking place on Wednesday the 26th September in Edinburgh.

Business Fives boasts some famous ex-players and sporting celebrities as ambassadors including footballer former Rangers star and ex-SFA boss Gordon Smith, ex-Celtic star turned commentator Andy Walker, Hibs legend Pat Stanton, Hearts stalwart Gary Mackay, BBC Pundit Tam McManus along with TV presenter David Tanner.
Tournament founder and Business Fives managing director John McClarey – who also organised a highly-successful inaugural Business Fours golf tournament earlier this year – says “the events have proven to be a very big hit with the Glasgow Energy sector and allows a wide range of job roles to come together on the football pitch and down tools for the afternoon. We’ve been really impressed at the charitable efforts from the sector that has lived up to it’s reputation of having communities at the heart of their work. Given the mix of companies we’ve had involved it promises to be another good networking opportunity for the industry.”
