Corporate Sports Events kicking off across Scotland and England this summer
The 2019 Summer Season of Business Fives looks set to be another brilliant series of corporate sports events creating a huge social impact with the £100,000 in donations target within touching distance.
The corporate sports events will be visiting 4 cities across Scotland this summer to find Scotland’s national business five-a-side football champions 2019 as well as venturing South of the border as Business Fives searches for the first national champions in England. Professionals from different sectors the choice of 15 qualifying events in all ahead of the respective national finals.
The events offer football loving professionals a chance to leave the office, focus on their well-being and make some new connections while raising money for worthy causes. The five-a-side events allow businesses to come together to strengthen their team relationships, focus on their CSR and make new connections with other players.
Each team taking part nominate a charity partner to directly donate the money they raise ahead of the event and on top of what they have raised one team will have the chance to win our bumper donation that is awarded to the national Champions. Already over 80% of the way there the target for the summer season is to pass the £100,000 milestone raised for charities since the series of events started.
With continued support from media partners insider.co.uk and industry partners such as the local Chamber of Commerce offices the five-a-side events will be taking place from the 29th July to the 17th September in a city near you.
Businesses across a diverse range of sectors such as; Professional Services, Energy and Utilities, Construction, Housing and Property, Technology and IT and Financial Services will be getting involved in the Summer Season events.
The mixed events are open to any company to join and they cater for all levels of ability with a tiered tournament format that allows companies of a similar standard to enjoy game time against each other. All businesses involved will be playing for a place in the grand finals which take place at the end of September.
Local Businesses supporting Local Charities
Since launching in 2016 Business Fives have set a goal to donate £100,000 to charities within 3 years. Throughout the 2019 summer season companies will once again take to the pitch to raise money for their chosen charity and to compete for our bumper donation of 10% of all revenue from the event. The tournaments offer more than just monetary aid for the charities; they open up a range of potential new partnership opportunities between charities and the local business community.

Business Fives boasts some famous ex-players and sporting celebrities as ambassadors including footballer former Rangers star and ex-SFA boss Gordon Smith, ex-Celtic star turned commentator Andy Walker, Hibs legend Pat Stanton, Hearts stalwart Gary Mackay, BBC Pundit John Yogi Hughes along with TV presenter David Tanner.
Tournament founder and Business Fives managing director John McClarey – who also organised a highly-successful inaugural Business Fours golf tournament earlier this year – says “the events have proven to be a very big hit with our varied client base and allows a wide range of job roles to come together on the football pitch and down tools for the afternoon. We’ve been really impressed at the charitable efforts from the companies involved who have been enthusiastic about creating a positive social impact on their communities. Given the mix of companies we’ve had involved it promises to be another good networking opportunity for the companies involved.”
