Business Fives Ready to Swing Past £200,000 Charity Milestone

Having recently celebrated its 5th anniversary in business, Business Fives has more cause for celebration on the horizon with a major charity milestone in sight.  The company have been donating 10% of revenue to charity since the outset and with the help of client fundraising the overall impact will shortly reach £200,000.

With ambitious growth plans to grow that figure to £1million in the next five years Business Fives has expanded from offering 5-a-side football events in central Scotland to running national esports, football and golf events in England and Scotland.

The company is extremely proud of how the events have contributed to charities throughout the UK and been recognised for their sustainability and social impact at several awards ceremonies. With corporate clients across the country the fundraising efforts and desire to support charities has been incredible especially throughout the pandemic.

The majority of the current £195,000 charitable impact has been delivered through Business Fives core corporate football events which have been on pause throughout the pandemic.  The business saw a natural pivot by creating Business Esports which has enabled them to keep the community connected online and enabling clients to continue to fundraise for their chosen charities.

Also successfully hosting a series of socially distant golf events through Business Fours which also allowed our clients to further boost their corporate social responsibility.

The British Heart Foundation are just one of many well-supported charities that have been gifted donations because of our clients supporting them.

William Ham, Fundraising Manager at the BHF, highlighted how important it has been to continuously support charities throughout the past year saying: “Sadly, while the world has been on lockdown, heart and circulatory diseases have continued to tear families apart and snatch away people’s quality of life.  But with the public’s continued support we can, and will, lessen the suffering they cause”.

Many live in-person events were cancelled throughout the UK over the last year, Business Fives adapted their offering with the introduction of Business Esports. The online corporate gaming events have been a big hit with clients and allowed them to continue their charitable efforts from the safety of their own homes.

Krish Adams, Senior Recruitment Consultant from Carrington West who took part in a recent esports event said: ‘Business Esports just seemed like another way I could do what I was already doing in an evening but put it to good use and raise some money for charity’.

John McClarey, Founder of Business Fives is extremely proud of the impact the events have had over the past five years. He said:

“This past year has been a challenge across all sectors, not least the events industry

and toreach this milestone is one we are hugely proud of and an encouraging sign of positivity at a time when the outlook is looking brighter. We are excited that our upcoming 2021 golf events will see us smash through the £200,000 mark raised for charities.  I would like to thank every client who has supported us on the journey over the past 5 years and very much looking forward to see where the next 5 years will take us.”
