Tevalis Take the Trophy at the Business Fives Hull Event
Another successful Business Fives event took place as the action returned to Hull serving up 22 matches, 103 goals and a combined total of £1,635 raised for charity.
8 companies participated in hope of securing their spot at the Business Fives National final in Manchester on Tuesday 5th April where they will bid to win a share of over £10,000 for their chosen charity.
There was a tremendous fundraising effort across the attendees and on the day it was Tevalis who lifted the Top Fundraiser trophy with both their teams raising a combined total of £505 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
We are delighted to announce that Sewell Group have now topped this amount having raised an incredible £600 for Boulevard Academy Hardship Fund. Mason Clark Associates came in third raising £310 for East Yorkshire Food Bank, beating the total they raised from the last event.
The forecasted rain held off until the action reached the final stages and did little to dampen the spirit of the players. GGP Consult, Premier Modular, Tevalis and Rollits all battled it out to secure the qualifying spots in the Champions League semi finals.
It was Premier Modular and the Tevalis Team 2 who progressed to the final. While Premier Modular kept their form, it was Tevalis who won 4-1 and claimed the title of Hull Business Fives Football champions.
Sewell Group claimed their spot in the Europa League final after defeating Tevalis Team 1 in a whopping 11-0 victory. They were joined by Pepperells after they secured a 2-1 victory over Mason Clark courtesy of a winner in the dying seconds.
In their first meeting of the day, it was Sewell Groupwho scored late on to put them ahead after avery close match and become Europa League champions, securing the third and final spot at the national final.
Hull City superstar Dean Windass entertained the players with stories from his playing career in the post match debrief and awards presentation as well as touching on the importance of mental health and highlighting the purpose of speaking up when you might be feeling low.
At the awards ceremony it was a clean sweep from Tevalis as Josh Wright was awarded MOTM and Dilu Miah scooped the top goal scorer with 13 goals, a very decent return.
Business Fives heads to Leeds on Thursday 30th September before continuing the 21/22 Winter season in November with further events in Nottingham, Sheffield, Stoke and Liverpool. A full list of event dates can be found on our website here.
