RSM Rise To The Top in Bradford

Business Fives hosted its Bradford qualifier on Thursday 10th March which seen 166 goals in 46 matches and £2,720 raised for various local charities.

Off the pitch, Watson Buckle raised £345 for The Cellar Trust and HF Wealth raised £500 for Leeds Autism Support. It was Advanced Supply Chain who lifted the Top Fundraiser award, kindly sponsored by Powell, having raised an impressive £739.50 for Forget Me Not Childrens Hospice.

17 companies from Bradford took part to bid for one of 2 qualifying spots up for grabs at the Business Fives National Final which will be held on Tuesday 5th April in Manchester where there is over £10,000 to be distributed between the winners’ chosen charities.

After a 5-1 win against Gesipa in the semi final stages, Harrison Spinks went on to play in the Champions League final against RSM who squeezed passed Leach 1-0.

After going 4-0 down in the final, Harrison Spinks tried to claw it back managing 2 goals but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to lift the trophy but they can take consolation in securing the qualification spot for the National Final.

A great performance from Dylan Collington from RSM seen him singled out by Wayne Jacobs as Man of the Match and RSM were crowned the new Bradford Business Fives champions. The team also won a £500 donation for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

In other individual awards, Polly Asquith-Brown from Orean was awarded the Player of the Tournament award and Dean Worrall from Triton Construction was the top marksman lifting the Top Goal Scorer award with his total of 11 goals.

After a tough opening group, HF Wealth found their stride in the knockout stages and went on to win the Europa League after knocking out McLeod + Aitken in the semi-finals. The team faced High Speed Training in the finals after their 4-1  semi-final win against Banner.

In the final HF Wealth ran out 3-0 winners overturning an earlier defeat in the group stages to lift the trophy.

At the drinks reception, Bradford City last ever Premier League scorer, Wayne Jacobs spoke about his playing days as well as about the great charity work he is doing now with One in a Million.

Business Fives heads to Hull on Tuesday, Tees Valley on Wednesday before finishing off the England qualifiers with stops in Sheffield, Nottingham and London.

Alongside medical support on site as standard for our Business Fives events for any injuries that might arrive we are taking some extra steps to mitigate risks associated with events.

We adhere fully with the latest government guidance and have implemented a series of covid secure measures in place at our events. In addition to this each player must confirm they have a negative LFT test or that they are fully vaccinated and are not currently displaying any covid symptoms.
