Bradford Football Tournament – Business Fives September 2022
The Senator Group Crowned Bradford Champions
Business Fives hosted its Bradford event with 19 companies competing for 3 qualification spots at the National Final and raising £3,225 for various local charities in the process.
Off the pitch, the Top Fundraiser award was hotly contested with Nufarm coming in third place having raised £220 for Macmillian and NewDay placing second with their total of £440 raised for Family Action. Out in front, the BAM Nutall team took home the award having raised an impressive £1960 for St Georges Crypt and Learning Partners.
On the pitch, Nufarm made it to the Europa League final after beating Don Whitley Scientific 3-1. They went on to face Principle after their 1-0 victory against Powell Industries T1.
With a qualification spot up for grabs, both teams gave it their all in the final! As the final whistle blew, it was Principle who secured the qualification spot as well as a £150 donation for Cancer Research after winning 0-1.
In the Champions League, 14 goals were scored between both semi finals and it was The Senator Group who managed to make their way to the final after beating e3 Recruitment 6-2 and went on to play Skipton Building Society who beat Fuel Card Services 4-2.
Both teams secured their spots at the National Final taking place on Tuesday 18th October in Leeds and went on to compete for a £350 charity donation on offer.
In a tight final, it was The Senator Group who would be crowned the new Bradford Business Fives champions. Led by Man of the Match, Ash, The Senator Group claimed the title and secured the additional £350 donation for Pendle Side Hospice.
In other individual awards it was Kirstie from BAM Nutall who was selected a Player of the Tournament and Ash from The Senator Group who bagged the Top Goal Scorer award with an impressive 16 goals.
The players were treated to stories from former Bradford city star Mark Bower’s playing career at the buffet and drinks reception after the football.
