Berkeley Square IT bag Bristol title
Business Fives returned to Bristol where £4,886 was raised for local charities by the 24 companies competing to secure one of three qualifying spots for the national final on Tuesday 5th April in Manchester.
Off the Fence done an incredible job off the pitch taking the third spot for fundraising efforts having raised £450 for Children’s Hospital South West. Aspirations Financial Planning came in second place having raised £255 for Children with Cancer which the company matched to bring their total to £510.
It was Redrow who was out in front with the team raising an incredible £810 for We Hear You, crowning them top fundraisers.
On the pitch, reigning Bristol champions, People Source, were knocked out in the Champions League semi-final by Hunter Selection in what was a valiant title defence. The team then went on to face Berkeley Square IT after their 2-0 victory against Lancer Scott.
After a suspenseful 10 minutes, the final went to sudden death penalties where Berkeley Square IT secured the win and a £500 donation for Bristol Animal Rescue Centre.
It was Berkeley Square keeper, Jan Alexander, who was awarded MOTM by Scott Murray with his penalty save topping off his overall fantastic performance.
In the other individual awards, Isabel Palmer from the Aspirations team was selected as the Player of the Tournament and David Benjamin from Foot Anstey secured the top goal scorer award with an impressive 19 goals.
Burges Salmon, Capio Recruitment, Mustard and Off the Fence all reached the Europa League semi finals. It was Mustard and Capio who competed to secure the remaining qualifying spot and £250 donation for their chosen charity. In the end it was Mustard who went 3-1 up against Capio and won the donation for Freekicks Foundation.
The teams enjoyed a Q&A after the games with Bristol City legend Scott Murray who is now back at the club as the kitman.
Business Fives will back in Leeds and Newcastle on the 15th and 16th February to continue its 21/22 Winter Season. Full details of our winter season can be found on our website here.

Alongside medical support on site as standard for our Business Fives events for any injuries that might arrive we are taking some extra steps to mitigate risks associated with events.
We adhere fully with the latest government guidance and have implemented a series of covid secure measures in place at our events. In addition to this each player must confirm they have a negative LFT test or that they are fully vaccinated and are not currently displaying any covid symptoms.
