Bristol Football Tournament – Business Fives September 2022
EVONA Crowned Business Fives Bristol Champions
Business Fives hosted its Bristol event with 14 companies competing for 3 qualification spots at the National Final and raising £2,507 for various local charities in the process.
Off the pitch, the Top Fundraiser award was hotly contested with Parmenion coming in third place having raised £293 for Rays of Sunshine and EVONA placing second with their total of £610 raised for the South West Children’s Hospital. Out in front, the Simitive team took home the award having raised an impressive £964 for Ocean Stars Trust.
On the pitch, Easton Bevins made it to the Europa League final after beating Eurilait 3-2. They went on to face CIMPA after their 3-1 victory against AND Digital.
With a qualification spot up for grabs, both teams gave it their all with 10 goals in the final! As the final whistle blew, it was CIMPA who secured the qualification spot as well as a £150 donation for Cancer Research after winning 6-4.
In the Champions League, both semi finals seen a 3-1 scoreline and it was Delaware Digital who managed to make their way to the final after beating Parmenion and went on to play EVONA who won against Vertical Aerospace.
Both teams secured their spots at the National Final taking place on Tuesday 18th October in Leeds and went on to compete for a £350 charity donation on offer.
In a tight final and one goal each, it came down to sudden death penalties to decide who would be crowned the new Bristol Business Fives champions. Led by Man of the Match, Luke, EVONA claimed the title and added the donation to their £610 raised for the South West Children’s Hospice.
In other individual awards it was Melissa from VIMA group who was selected a Player of the Tournament and Jake from Parmenion who bagged the Top Goal Scorer award with an impressive 22 goals.
The players were treated to stories from former Bristol city star Lee Trundle’s playing career at the buffet and drinks reception after the football.
Business Fives continues its events in Swansea and Cardiff before heading to Birmingham, Bradford, Tees Valley, Nottingham and London.
