The Business Esports Call of Duty Tournament will run online in January from the comfort of players homes. Full rules can be found on our website here.

Business Esports Call of Duty tournament is cross-platform and open to anyone with an Xbox, PC or Playstation console on either the 2019 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare or the latest Black Ops Cold War edition.

Registration is now open for the January tournament and 10% of revenue will then be donated to the winning companies chosen charity.

Entries are now open for colleagues of between 4- 6 players to form a team and enter under their company name.  Individuals or pairs can be paired up to play with others in similar positions and companies can submit multiple teams.

JANUARY EVENT TIMINGS:

Games will be played during the evenings to minimise disruption to normal working hours.

Tuesday 19th – Thursday 21st: League Matches 18:00 Start

Friday 22nd: Knockouts and Finals Night 18:00 Start

Call of Duty tournament format

Team size required will be 4 vs 4 players. Teams must have a minimum of 3 players to avoid forfeit. 3 vs 4 is allowed if you choose to play, team captains may both also agree to play 5 vs 5.

Each match will consist of up to 3 rounds the first is Search & Destroy, map 2 is a Team Deathmatch with the third round Hardpoint acting as the deciding round should it be required. The rounds will be played in a custom playlist with the maps chosen by each team alternately i.e. Team A chooses the map for the first Round and Team B chooses the map for the Second Round.  Each team will get a map veto that will apply to both rounds.

The Tournament will take place over 4 evenings with matches commencing at 6pm on match days which will be 2 league matches per evening on Tuesday 19th, Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st before Knockouts and Finals night on Friday 22nd January.  Each team will have a minimum of 2 matches per evening and all match fixtures will be announced when the tournament is finalised.

Captains should make contact, begin adding each other through Activision, and discuss reschedules if necessary.

There will be two stages: Initial group stage section where teams are awarded 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.  The tournament will then progress into separate tiered knockout stages, Elite and Prestige Sections.  The format will be announced before the season begins when we know the exact number of teams. The tournament format section will be updated along with an announcement email for all captains.

Activision ID’s for team captains will be found in the match fixtures posted in the Discord before the matches.

All team members must have access to either an Xbox One, PC or PlayStation 4 and have a copy of either Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 or Black Ops Cold War installed with an Xbox Gold or PSN Plus account. Companies may submit multiple cross platform teams.

Definitions

A ‘match’ will see company teams of 4 players (0r 5 vs 5 as agreed by team captains) playing against each other.

A ‘Round’ ie.

Round 1 is Search and Destroy with the map chosen by the ‘Home’ team.

Round 2 is a 15 minute Team Deathmatch with the map chosen by the ‘Away’ team.

Round 3 (if required) is Hardpoint with a new map chosen by the ‘Home’ team.

3 points will be awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw and match scores will be reported after the final round in the match.

This equates to a minimum of 2 rounds per participant per evening in each match.

£250 + VAT per team entry
