Call of Duty tournament format
Team size required will be 4 vs 4 players. Teams must have a minimum of 3 players to avoid forfeit. 3 vs 4 is allowed if you choose to play, team captains may both also agree to play 5 vs 5.
Each match will consist of up to 3 rounds of a team Deathmatch with the third round acting as the deciding round should it be required. The rounds will be played in a custom playlist with the maps chosen by each team alternately i.e. Team A chooses the map for the first Round and Team B chooses the map for the second Round. Each team will get a map veto that will apply to both rounds.
The Tournament will take place over 2 weeks with matches commencing at 6pm on match days which will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Each team will have a minimum of 2 matches per week and all match fixtures will be announced when the tournament is finalised.
Captains should make contact, begin adding each other through Activision, and discuss reschedules if necessary.
There will be two stages: Initial group stage section where teams are awarded 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. The tournament will then progress into two separate knockout stages. The format will be announced before the season begins when we know the exact number of teams. The tournament format section will be updated along with an announcement email for all captains.
Activision ID’s for team captains will be found on a pinned message in the COD:MW Discord.
All team members must have access to either an Xbox One, PC or PlayStation 4 and have a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 installed with an Xbox Gold or PSN Plus account. Companies may submit multiple teams.
A ‘match’ will see company teams of 4 players (0r 5 vs 5 as agreed by team captains) playing against each other.
A ‘Round’ is one 15 minute Team Deathmatch game.
Round 1 map is chosen by the ‘Home’ team.
Round 2 map is chosen by the ‘Away’ team.
Round 3 (if required) map is chosen by the ‘Home’ team.
3 points will be awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw and match scores will be reported after the final round in the match.
This equates to a minimum 2 rounds per participant per evening in each match.
Games will be played during the evenings to minimise disruption to normal working hours.
The format will be announced before the season begins when we know the exact number of teams. The tournament format section will be updated regularly and every player is responsible for keeping up to date with their own fixtures.
Whilst we have tried to be as clear as possible we understand sometimes assistance might be needed on our Call of Duty Tournament Format and if this is the case, send a message to a member of the Business Esports team.
The main thing to remember is to play with respect for your opponent and fellow players. Players are reminded that they are representing their company as well as their chosen charity and the tournament is to be played in a competitive and courteous manner.
