May 2020 FIFA Tournament
Our Online FIFA Tournament offers teams the chance to bond and compete remotely through FIFA 20 while supporting their chosen charity. Individual and team entrants will be able to stay socially distanced during the Business Esports competitions and full rules can be found on our website here.
Business Esports online FIFA tournament is open to anyone with an Xbox or Playstation console with FIFA 20.
Entries are now open for the May tournament which kicks off on Tuesday May 18th for colleagues of between 4- 8 players to form a team and enter under their company name. Individuals or pairs can be paired up to play with others in similar positions.
Registration remains free for the May tournament and all teams are required to nominate a chosen charity in advance. All players will be encouraged to make a donation into the charity prize pot which will then be donated to the winning companies chosen charity.
April 2020 FIFA Tournament
After 640 fixtures and 3397 goals the April 20 FIFA Tournament winners were Drummond Central and Kingsway Claims on the PS4 and Xbox respectively, they made their winning £250 donations to the North East Ambulance Service and Take Away the Tears respectively.
Round Robin FIFA tournament format
Teams of 4 play in an initial round-robin group stage to gauge skill levels before the tournament then progresses into 2 separate knock out phases winners of which will progress on to the Semi Final and latterly to the Final.
All team members must have access to the same brand of console either an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 and have a copy of FIFA 20 installed with an Xbox Gold or PSN Plus account. Companies may submit 2 teams i.e. an Xbox team of 4 and a Playstation team of 4.
A ‘match’ will see company teams of 4 players playing against each other.
A ‘fixture’ is one 12 minute FIFA game.
Each match will consist of 16 fixtures with each participant playing one fixture against each of the opposing 4 participants.
This equates to 4 fixtures per participant per evening in each match.
The outcome of a single match is determined by the aggregate score of the 16 individual fixtures
The exact FIFA Tournament format will be finalised and communicated with all entrants when the format has been finalised and the fixtures have been decided on. Every player is responsible for keeping up to date with their own fixtures.
Games will be played during the evenings to minimise disruption to normal working hours and kick off times will be staggered to suit daily schedules. Fixtures commence on Tuesday 19th May and the knock out phase will begin on Tuesday 26th May.
Tuesday: 18:00 Kick Off

Whilst we have tried to be as clear as possible about the online FIFA Tournament we understand sometimes assistance might be needed and if this is the case, send a message to a member of the Business Esports team.
The main thing to remember is to play with respect for your opponent and fellow players. Players are reminded that they are representing their company and the tournament is to be played in a competitive and courteous manner.
