WEALTH at Work Win in Liverpool

Business Fives hosted it’s Liverpool event, supported by sponsors WEALTH at work, on Wednesday with 22 companies scoring 375 goals in 64 matches and raising £1,329 in the process.

The Top Fundraiser Award was hotly contested with AECOM coming out on top on the day having raised £257 for The Bobby Colleran Trust. Their efforts were closely followed by the AstraZeneca teams who raised £175 for their site appointed charities, Launch Pad, Army Veterans Centre and Five Families and BDO who raised £160 for Micah Liverpool which has since risen to £310.

The Top Goalscorer award was also sponsored by WEALTH at Work and presented by Gary and Sean. This went to Alex  for his impressive total of 24 goals which helped Meade King Robinson make it to the Champions League semi-final.

MKR went on to face WEALTH at work who scored 3 goals and progress to the final.  In the other tight semi-final, it was Penny Lane Builders who managed to get a goal against Ford Halewood and progress to the final.

Both teams secured a qualifying spot for the National Final taking place in Leeds on Tuesday 18th October.

Having only conceded 6 goals all day, the WEALTH at work team continued the trend of having a solid defensive base, conceding no goals in the final and scoring 2 as they lifted the Trophy to be crowned the new Liverpool Champions. The team also won a £350 donation for The Marina Dalglish Appeal.

After the football, the players were treated to stories from Liverpool Champions League hero,  Neil Mellor’s playing days and it was Sam Rimmer who was chosen by Neil as Player of the Match in the final.

The Europa League seen BDO win an impressive 7-0 against South Liverpool Homes and they went on to face the AstraZeneca B Shift team after their 3-1 victory against Concentrix. It was BDO who continued to demonstrate their goal scoring ability with a final score line of 8-3 against B Shift.

BDO secured the final qualification spot as well as a £150 donation for Micah Liverpool.

Another winner from the event was Ameena from Star Handling who was awarded the Player of the Tournament award for her efforts in getting the team to the Europa League quarter finals.
