Tees Valley Football Tournament – Business Fives September 2022

Visualsoft Emerge as Tees Valley Champions

Business Fives hosted its Tees Valley event with 21 companies coming together to score 270 goals across 69 matches at the Goals Venue. Teams from across the city raised £1,479 and were playing for additional donations for their chosen charity, with hopes of becoming the next Tees Valley champions and claim a spot at the National Finals.

Off the pitch, the top fundraiser prize was hotly contested. The ITPS team raised £210 for The Great North Air Ambulance, but it was the team from Double Eleven who claimed the award having raised a terrific £244 for Special Effects.

On the pitch, Able UK made it to the Europa League final after beating Beyond Painters 3-2. They went on to face Fedcap after their 4-1 victory against DTO. With a qualification spot up for grabs, both teams gave it their all in the final! As the final whistle blew, it was Fedcap who secured the qualification spot as well as a £150 donation for Zoe’s Place Middlesbrough after winning 6-0.

In the Champions League, 10 goals were scored between both semi finals and it was Visualsoft who managed to make their way to the final after beating Thirteen Group T2 4-0 and went on to play Cummins T1 who beat Bulk Trainer Logistics 4-2.

Both teams secured their spots at the National Final taking place on Tuesday 18th October in Leeds and went on to compete for a £350 charity donation on offer.

In a tight final, it was Visualsoft who would be crowned the new Tees Valley Business Fives champions. Led by Man of the Match, Will, Visualsoft claimed the title and secured the additional £350 donation for Give a duck Foundation.

In other individual awards it was Robin from P+HS Architects who was selected a Player of the Tournament and Connor from Fedcap who bagged the Top Goal Scorer award with an impressive 21 goals.

The players were treated to brilliant stories from former Middlesbrough star Dean Windass’s playing career at the buffet and drinks reception after the football.
