WARZONE TOURNAMENT RULES – BUSINESS ESPORTS

This page contains the Warzone Tournament Rules for the gameplay and player behaviour within our tournaments. The main thing to remember is to play with respect for your opponent and fellow players. We have tried to include rules for all situations that might arise but sometimes assistance might be needed and if this is the case, send a message to a member of the Business Esports team. The Warzone Tournament Rules will be reviewed periodically and feedback or amendments will be considered when sent in writing. Every player has to be aware of the behaviour guidelines and online tournament rules.

Warzone Tournament Rules

  • Tournament schedules will be posted on the Business Esports site before the tournament starts.
  • The Business Esports team will work under the assumption that each participant is aware of all the rules and checks them regularly although significant rule changes will be communicated.  A lack of knowledge of the rules will not be used as an excuse for rule-breaking.
  • Players who take part are required to play with the Activision ID they have specified. In the event another account is going to be used, submit this to the Business Esports team at the earliest opportunity along with an explanation for the switch.
  • Every participant is required to be online in the Discord chat of the tournament they are participating in. Players are responsible for his or her own internet connection and ensuring they have the most up to date gamer version installed.
  • Players found breaking the rules will be penalised. The exact punishment will be decided by Business Esports. Examples of punishments are replay, penalty points, exiting the tournament early, a temporary or a permanent ban.
  • Players found to be complaining about losing a match or found to be playing out with the spirit of the game will be named and shamed as sore losers and their team may be subject to further penalties.
  • If there are suspicions that your opponent is not playing by the rules or serious lag occurs for a long time, report this to the Business Esports team as soon as possible, before your opponent has taken benefit of the problem.
  • Crossplay must be set to “Enabled” at all times. Games played without Crossplay enabled will not count. To enable Crossplay, go to the Options menu, navigate to the Account tab, toggle the Crossplay option to Enabled.
  • All players must set their Call of Duty data to be visible to “All” for the Tournament Organizers to validate the results.
  • Go to https://profile.callofduty.com/cod/profile
  • Under Linked Account, set ‘Data Visible’ to ‘All’ for the corresponding account you’ll be participating with
  • Participants will not use any third-party applications or otherwise engage in any behaviour that allows you to gain an unfair advantage.
  • Participants are responsible for the requisite computer hardware, software and internet connection to participate in the Tournament.
  • Participants will comply with all of Activision Blizzard’s terms and requirements related to the Game, including but not limited to its terms of use (found here).
  • Squads can consist of between 4-6 players and substitutes should be named in advance of the tournament. Always refer back to the Warzone Tournament Rules.
  • Should your company be interested in sponsoring the tournament please contact us to discuss
  • Team Captains must check-in 10 minutes before play starts when the team is ready. This should be done via the relevant Business Esports Discord server tournament channel.  Teams who do not check-in 5 minutes ahead of start time cannot be guaranteed a game.
  • The Tournament schedule will be communicated to team captains in advance.
  • A designated host will be allocated each evening and they will be responsible for starting a lobby.
  • Team captains are responsible for ensuring their team are ready.
  • Team captains are required to take at least one photo of the score each. This photo should contain: the score and the Activision ID’s.
  • If all teams are ready, play can start before the scheduled time however additional in-play breaks will not be permitted in-game.
  • Each team has to register with Business Esports in order to participate, this can be coordinated by a team captain.  Companies will be allowed to substitute players but these must be communicated in advance.
  • When an online tournament is organised for teams, only the main player needs to register for the tournament but they then assume captaincy and responsibility for the rest of their team.  Captaincy can be transferred at a later date
  • The exact tournament format will be dictated by the number of teams entering and will be communicated to all teams in advance.
  • The organiser reserves the right to add or remove players or teams throughout the tournament.
  • Collusion with other teams, including but not limited to disclosing other players locations who you may be spectating shall be deemed as a serious offence and may lead to disqualification.
  • All teams will get a 90 minute window, with highest kills, most cash and placement scores counting
  • 90 minute window of gameplay will commence when team captain checks in on Discord.
  • Check-ins should be between 530pm – 730pm

  • Advised – 30 minutes of Survival – Battle Royale
  • All squads should have at least one player streaming
  • Your full squad should join a public lobby in the relevant BR mode
  • Team Captains must check in via Discord which will signify commencement of your 90 minute window.
  • Squads can play as many games as they can during the window.
  • Should a squad start their final game before the time is up, team captains must notify admins of this on Discord and continue playing until the end of that game.
  • You are allowed to back out of games.
  • In the event you have a suspected cheater/hacker in the lobby it is at your discretion to back out and go again
  • Your 3 best scores within the 90 minute period should be reported:
    1. Most Kills in Rebirth Resurgence
    2. Highest Plunder Cash Total
    3. Highest Placement in Survival Battle Royale
  • Full Business Esports rules apply.
  • Players are not permitted to change their gamertag prior to tournament play.
  • If the top two teams finish in a tie, the charity donation prize pot will be split between teams. For clarity, if two teams are tied first for points, total team kills, wins and number of games played, the prize for p2 and p3 would be split by the teams.
  • Cross play enabled across all game modes
  • Should a team experience connection issues which delay their 90 minute window start time they can make up the time after the Private lobby.
  1. Hosting:
    • Business Esports will provide a host who will add in all team captains into the lobby.  Team captains are then required to add in their team.
    • In the event there is no assigned tournament host, the hosting team will be displayed on each Match Page.
    • In the event players get removed from a lobby the threshold for a restart will be if less than 75% of players start the round. For clarity this is 75% of the whole lobby and if an entire team gets removed please see the disconnections section below for the scores assigned.
    • For Plunder, team captains must report any removals in the Discord server at the earliest opportunity.
  2. How to play:
    • Battle Royale – Survival
      • The team which stays alive the longest shall win the map.
        • If both teams are alive at the end of the round the following tie conditions must be followed in order
          • Number of team members alive
          • Most Kills
          • Replay the map
    • A BR match is considered concluded once players from all teams have died.
      • Example: Players A, B, and C are all dead. Player D is still standing. If Player A gets a kill, that kill will count towards the team’s overall score. The second that player D dies, no other kills that occur after Player D’s death will be counted.
      • Players can be revived via the Gulag or Buy stations from members of their own team.
      • Kills made after a match has concluded will not count.
      • Jailbreak in-game event
        • If the match has concluded for Team A
          • Kills earned after the Jailbreak Event are not counted towards the final score.
        • If the match is still in progress for Team B
          • Kills earned after the Jailbreak Event are counted towards the final score.
        • In a Survival BR all positions after the event of a Jailbreak will stand as the result
  3. Tie Game:
    • In the event of a tie points will be distributed equally to level teams.
  4. Team Killing:
    • Teams are not permitted to work together. This includes any negative interference in your opponent’s gameplay. Doing so may result in a disqualification.
    • Video proof must be provided which clearly shows any of the above as well as all Activision ID’s.
  5. Disconnections:
    • In the event a team gets removed from a lobby a ghost score will be assigned. The ghost score will be their average score in that particular game mode from previous or future nights gameplay.  i.e. if a team gets removed from a Survival lobby the score assigned will be average of all Survival received previously and after.  For further clarity should an entire team get kicked from survival the score attributed will be the teams average points tally for rounds played before and after that section of the tournament.  Should a team not have played any Survival rounds previously the average will be assigned retrospectively.  For this reason Team ghost scores are subject to fluctuation to give an accurate reflection on team capabilities.
    • In the event players get removed from a team in a Survival lobby due to the scoring nature of these game modes no ghost score will be assigned.
  6. Proof Requirements:
    • All teams should provide video proof of the following:
      • Final scoreboard
        • Team Kills
        • Opponent Kills
      • Opponent time of death
