Leeds Football Tournament – Business Fives February 2022
SmartSearch Show Their Class to Be Crowned Leeds Champions
Business Fives returned to Leeds for another sold out event. On the pitch there were 290 goals scored across 59 games with over £1,500 being raised for charity in the process.
Former Runners-Up and National Finalists, Evans Property Group, raised a terrific £300 for Martin House Hospice with Parallax raising £288 for MIND, another brilliant effort.
But it was Cloud Nine Hair who were the Top Fundraisers on the day, raising £460 for Saint Michael’s Hospice. A fantastic effort from the team.
With the rain (for once) staying away, it was SmartSearch, Inventry, Mackenzie Stuart and Addleshaw Goddard who found themselves in the Champions League semi finals – one game away from qualifying for the National Final in Manchester and playing for the £500 charity donation.
A convincing 4-0 win for SmartSearch set up and final showdown with Inventry, who snuck past Addleshaw Goddard 1-0 in the other semi-final. Led by man of the match, Adam Hartley, the SmartSearch team came out victorious, winning 2-0 and winning £500 for Cancer Research UK.
In the other individual awards, Annie was selected as the Player of the Tournament for her contribution to the Inventry team throughout the tournament. This was the second time she has been crowned Player of the Tournament!
It was Optimum Finance, Rex Proctor and Partners, Moda and Pan Intelligence who all reached the Europa League semi finals. They were looking to secure that elusive National Final spot alongside a £250 donation. Led by tournament top goalscorer, Ewan, it was the Optimum Finance side who were crowned Europa League winners.
After the football, Leeds legend, Noel Whelan entertained everyone with stories from his time at the club and his brilliant career at Coventry City.
Business Fives will be around England in Manchester, Liverpool, Leicester and Birmingham in the coming weeks and full details can be found on our website here.
